Big Homes, Two-Day Moves
We recommend splitting most Watts-Hillandale moves into two days. Day one, our crew packs the full kitchen, the home office, the china cabinet, and every closet in a 4-5 bedroom house. Day two, we move everything out. Rushing a home this size leads to mistakes, and the original 1930s woodwork in these Durham Tudors, Colonials, and Georgians isn't something you can replace. Two days keeps it organized and keeps your home protected.
The homes are beautiful but they're also a workout. Multiple levels mean stair carries on most of the furniture. Original hardwood floors need runners before we bring anything through. Doorframes get padded, banisters get wrapped, and we take the extra time to protect woodwork that's been in place for almost a century. These aren't the kind of details you can rush.
For most Watts-Hillandale moves, we bring a 3 to 4-person crew and plan for 8 to 12 hours on move day, depending on the home. A separate packing day cuts that down and keeps things organized. Full kitchens, home offices, attics, garages. These homes have a lot of square footage and a lot of belongings. We can also arrange storage if your timeline requires it.
We've been moving families on Watts Street and Hillandale Road for nearly 50 years. If you've got a big house and a lot of belongings, we'll plan for all of it. Call us at (919) 682-2300.
