NC to Florida Moving Since 1976

Moving to or from Florida? Truckin' Movers provides licensed interstate moving services with nearly five decades of experience. USDOT #0233952.

How Much Does It Cost to Move from NC to Florida?

Moving from NC to Florida costs $3,500 to $7,500 for a typical 3-bedroom household, depending on weight, services, and destination. Florida is our most popular long-distance route. Durham to Jacksonville is about 500 miles straight down I-95. Orlando is around 600 miles. Tampa, 700. Miami, closer to 850. In a loaded moving truck, Jacksonville is a 1-day drive. Miami takes about 2 days. By car those same trips run 7 to 12 hours, but a full-size moving truck travels slower, and our drivers follow mandatory rest requirements under federal regulations.

We move people to every part of Florida. Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa are the most common destinations from the Triangle. But we also deliver regularly to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Naples, Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Gainesville, and the Space Coast. We've moved families to beachfront condos in Clearwater, retirement communities in The Villages, and suburban homes in every direction out of Orlando.

What Florida-Bound Customers Usually Need

The NC-to-Florida move comes in a few flavors. Young families relocating for work. Retirees heading south for good. Snowbirds setting up a second home. Each one looks a little different.

Retirement downsizes are a big part of our Florida business. Families moving out of a 4-bedroom home in Durham into a 2-bedroom condo in Naples don't need to take everything. We help sort out what's going and what's going to storage or donation. Our crew packs what you're keeping, and we can store anything you're not ready to part with in our Durham County facility.

Full-service packing is popular on this route. When you're coordinating a move 600 or 800 miles south, you've got enough to think about. Our crew handles the packing in a day, loads the next morning, and your container heads to Florida. Most customers on this route also want us to unpack at the other end.

Humidity matters on a Florida move. Wood furniture, electronics, and anything moisture-sensitive need proper protection. We've been running this route for decades and pack accordingly. Our sealed containers handle the climate shift from North Carolina to the subtropics without issues.

How We Handle Your Florida Move

Every Florida move starts with a walkthrough or a detailed phone estimate. We give you a firm price based on weight and services. No lowball estimate that doubles on moving day. Once you book, we lock in your pickup date and your delivery date. Two specific dates, not a window.

On moving day, our career crew loads your belongings into a dedicated container. That container stays sealed from Durham to Florida. No warehouse stop in Savannah. No combining your stuff with three other families. Your things get loaded once and unloaded once. That's how we keep damage claims near zero.

We're federally licensed under USDOT #0233952 and FMCSA #MC159007. We've held interstate authority since 1982, and we've been running the Carolina-to-Florida corridor the entire time. We're not a broker and we don't hand your move off to a subcontractor.

Anything, Anywhere

Houses, condos, offices, retirement downsizes. Packing, crating, storage, unpacking. Durham to Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Miami, or anywhere in the state. One company handles it all.

Career Employees

Our average crew member has been with us over ten years. The NC-to-Florida route is one of our most frequent runs. Your move is handled by people who've done this trip hundreds of times.

Exact Moving Dates

We give you a specific pickup date and a specific delivery date for your Florida move. Not a window. Not 'sometime next week.' A date. That's how we've done it since 1976.

One Touch Handling

Your belongings get loaded into a container once in North Carolina and unloaded once in Florida. No transfer at a warehouse in South Carolina or Georgia. Less handling means less risk.

One Move Manager

The person who does your survey is your point of contact for the whole move. Not a call center that hands you off to a new name every time you call. The same person, from your estimate through delivery day.

Detailed Scope of Work

Every move comes with a written agreement, a full inventory, and an itinerary. You know what we're moving and when, before move day. If you want to compare options, we'll build full-service, partial-pack, and you-pack estimates on the same scope, so you're comparing the same job.
