How an Emergency Pack-Out Works
Step 1: The call. You, your restoration company, or your insurance adjuster calls us at (919) 682-2300. We coordinate on timing, access, and scope. Our team mobilizes quickly because we know delays lead to mold, warping, and further damage.
Step 2: On-site assessment. Our crew walks through the affected area and evaluates every item. What's salvageable, what needs special handling, what needs moisture-barrier packaging. We photograph and catalog everything before we touch it. This documentation is critical for insurance claims.
Step 3: Packing. Items are packed room by room with full documentation. Water-damaged goods get stabilized with moisture barriers and desiccants. Electronics are separated and handled individually. Artwork, documents, and textiles each get specific treatment based on their condition and material.
Step 4: Transport to storage. Everything goes into sealed containers and moves to our climate-controlled warehouse in Durham. Climate control isn't optional for water-damaged items. Consistent temperature and humidity prevent mold growth and further deterioration while you wait for restoration.
Step 5: Storage. Your belongings stay in sealed containers, untouched, for as long as restoration takes. A few weeks, a few months, whatever the timeline requires. Our containerized system means nothing gets shuffled around or mixed with other people's things.
Step 6: Delivery home. When restoration is complete, we schedule an exact delivery date. The same containers come out of the warehouse and go back to your home. We unpack, place items where you want them, and remove all packing materials.
