International Movers to Africa Since 1976
We've been moving families overseas since 1976, and Africa is part of that story. South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Morocco, Ghana, Tanzania. Wherever you're headed on the continent, we handle the full process from your front door in North Carolina to your new address in Africa. That's packing, crating, customs documentation, ocean freight, and delivery at the destination.
How an International Move to Africa Works
Every move starts with a survey. We'll do an in-home walkthrough or a video call to inventory everything you're shipping. From there, we build a detailed quote with no hidden costs. Once you book, here's what happens:
- Packing and Crating: Our crew packs and crates your household goods using international-grade materials. Fragile items, artwork, and electronics get special attention. We build custom crates when the item calls for it.
- Customs Documentation: We prepare your shipping inventory, bill of lading, and all required export paperwork. We also coordinate with your destination country's import requirements so nothing gets held at the port.
- Ocean Freight: Your container ships from a U.S. East Coast port to your destination in Africa. Transit runs 4 to 8 weeks depending on the port. We track the shipment and keep you updated.
- Destination Delivery: Our partner agent at the African port handles customs clearance and delivers to your new home. They unload, unpack if you've requested it, and haul away packing materials.
What You Handle, What We Handle
You handle your visas, travel plans, and personal documents. We handle everything else. Packing, loading, export paperwork, ocean shipping, customs clearance, and delivery. If you need storage on either end, we've got that covered too. We've been coordinating moves across six continents for nearly 50 years. The process is proven.
Timelines and Planning
Plan for 8 to 12 weeks from booking to delivery for most African destinations. The packing and loading at your home takes 1 to 3 days depending on the size of the household. Ocean transit is the bulk of the timeline. We recommend starting the process at least 6 to 8 weeks before your travel date so your shipment arrives close to when you do.
