International Movers to Europe Since 1976
Europe is our most common international destination. UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Scandinavia. We've been moving families across the Atlantic since 1976, and the transatlantic route is one we know well. From your home in North Carolina to your new address in Europe, we handle packing, crating, customs documentation, ocean freight, and door-to-door delivery.
How an International Move to Europe Works
Every move starts with a survey. We'll walk through your home (in person or by video) and inventory what you're shipping. That survey drives your quote. Once you book, here's the process:
- Packing and Crating: Our crew packs your household using international-grade materials. Fine furniture, artwork, and fragile items get custom crating. We've packed thousands of international shipments over 49 years, and we know what survives an ocean crossing and what doesn't.
- Customs Documentation: We prepare your detailed inventory, bill of lading, and all U.S. export paperwork. EU and UK import rules differ, and they changed after Brexit. We stay current on the regulations so your shipment clears without delays.
- Ocean Freight: Your container ships from a U.S. East Coast port to your European destination. Transit runs 2 to 4 weeks, making it one of the faster international routes. We offer both full containers and shared container options depending on your volume.
- Destination Delivery: Our European partner agent handles customs clearance and delivers to your new home. They'll unpack on request and remove all packing materials. Door to door, start to finish.
What You Handle, What We Handle
You handle your visa, flights, and personal documents. We handle everything that goes in the container. Packing, loading, export paperwork, ocean shipping, customs clearance, and delivery. Need storage on either end? We've got climate-controlled options in Durham County and can coordinate storage in Europe through our partner network. We've been moving families to six continents for nearly 50 years.
Timelines and Planning
Plan for 6 to 8 weeks from booking to delivery. Europe is one of the faster international routes from the East Coast. Packing takes 1 to 3 days at your home. We recommend starting the process at least 4 to 6 weeks before your travel date. That keeps your shipment and your arrival on roughly the same schedule.
