2,500 Miles. Eight States. One Truck.
Raleigh to Los Angeles is a coast-to-coast move. Twenty-five hundred miles on I-40 West through North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, the Texas panhandle, New Mexico, Arizona, and into California. The truck rolls about 500 miles a day with mandatory rest stops, so delivery is typically 7-10 days after we load in Raleigh.
We've been running cross-country moves since 1982, when we won the right to operate in all 48 states after fighting the ICC in federal court. That fight is why we exist as an interstate carrier. We've been putting it to use ever since.
How We Load for Cross-Country
Twenty-five hundred miles demands a level of care that local moves don't. Our crew takes extra time wrapping, padding, and strapping everything for a week on the highway. The truck will cross the Appalachian foothills in Tennessee, the flat plains of Oklahoma and Texas, desert heat in Arizona, and the mountain passes into the LA basin. Every piece of furniture needs to stay locked in position through all of it.
Your stuff goes into the truck once in Raleigh and comes off once in LA. No transfer warehouses in Memphis or Albuquerque. No reloading onto a different truck. That's our one-touch, containerized approach, and on a move this long, it's the only way we'd do it.
Delivering in Los Angeles
LA is a city of neighborhoods, and each one has its own delivery situation. West Hollywood and Silver Lake have street parking challenges and usually need LADOT no-parking permits. Downtown DTLA lofts have loading docks with strict time slots. Santa Monica condos and Venice bungalows have tight access. The Valley, Sherman Oaks, Burbank, North Hollywood, is more standard residential. Long Beach and Pasadena each have their own quirks.
We need your specific address to plan the delivery right. Building coordination, permits, and elevator reservations get handled before the truck crosses the state line into California.

Moving from Los Angeles to Raleigh?
We handle the reverse too. People leave LA for the Triangle because housing costs are dramatically lower, the commutes are manageable, and the quality of life is hard to beat. You can buy a 3-bedroom house in Raleigh for what a 1-bedroom apartment costs in West Hollywood. The tech job market is growing with Apple, Epic Games, and others establishing major Triangle operations.
Raleigh neighborhoods that LA transplants tend to like include downtown and Glenwood South for walkable nightlife, Five Points and Oakwood for tree-lined streets and neighborhood character, and Cary or Morrisville for families who want great schools and newer homes. Since we're headquartered in Durham, right next to Raleigh, your delivery is in our backyard.
